What is the treatment process?

Invisalign treatment starts with a consultation with an Invisalign-trained doctor. Your doctor will evaluate your smile and then map out a precise, customised digital treatment plan that showcases the step-by-step transformation of your smile. Once you approve your plan, your unique aligners will be created. You will wear each set of aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day, changing to a new set of aligners every 1 to 2 weeks, as directed by your doctor.

How long does Invisalign treatment take?

Depending on the complexity of your case, you could complete your treatment in as little as 6 months. But you'll start seeing results in a matter of weeks.

What is Invisalign treatment?

Invisalign treatment is the process of wearing a series of clear, removable aligners that gradually straighten your teeth. There are no brackets and wires and no restrictions that come with metal braces.

What are Invisalign clear aligners made of?

Invisalign clear aligners are made of flexible plastic — specifically, a patented thermoplastic material called SmartTrack, created exclusively for Invisalign treatment.

What are the primary benefits of Invisalign treatment?

Invisalign clear aligners are virtually invisible — people may not even notice you’re wearing them. You can remove them to eat and drink, brush and floss, or for special occasions. There are no metal brackets or wires that could irritate your mouth or break.

Am I guaranteed to have straight teeth with Invisalign?

Every smile is unique, so your Invisalign treatment starts with a consultation. We cannot guarantee a particular outcome, but your Invisalign Doctor will discuss your treatment goals and expectations.

Can I get Invisalign when pregnant?

Yes, you can start your treatment during pregnancy. It’s non-invasive and safe, but we recommend discussing all dental treatments with your obstetrician first.

Will Invisalign affect my speech?

Some people may notice a slight lisp when they first start wearing the aligners. This is usually temporary and most patients quickly adapt within a few days.

Consultation

During your initial consultation, we will explain the process, ask a few questions about your treatment expectations and assess whether Invisalign would suit you. You’ll be able to tell us about any questions or concerns you may have.

Treatment planning

If you decide to proceed, we will take a 3D scan of your teeth; this will be used to create a detailed treatment plan, and to show you how your smile will look after treatment.

Teeth straightening

Your scans will be sent to the Invisalign lab, who will create your customised aligners. Once they are ready, book a follow up appointment to collect them. Your dentist will explain how to place and take care of them, and how often to book a review (usually around 6 to 8 weeks).

After you’ve finished wearing aligners, you’ll need to wear a retainer. At Circ Dental, we provide free Vivera retainers worth £450 for you to wear following your treatment. These are custom-made to fit your teeth; we recommend you wear one at night while you sleep.
