Our hygienist appointments are designed to improve gum health and support at-home oral health efforts.
With healthy gums, you can live with the peace of mind that your teeth have a healthy cocoon in which to function.
What is a hygienist appointment?
The purpose of a hygienist appointment is to examine the condition of your gums. Your hygienist will perform a routine cleaning of your gums, eradicating plaque and tartar that naturally accumulate on your teeth as a result of acids being released when carbohydrates are consumed.
All adults should see the hygienist at least twice a year, as everyone will develop a degree of plaque and tartar. If left to settle, these substances can inflame your gums and begin to eat away at your gumline and jawbone.
Putting prevention first
Prevention is the core of everything we do here at Circ Dental, especially when it comes to protecting your gums. Our friendly hygienists will explain how to practice good brushing and flossing techniques at home, as this can significantly reduce your risk of gum disease, helping you avoid treatment in the future.
If you are presenting with symptoms of gingivitis (early onset gum disease) or periodontitis (advanced gum disease).
Airflow® Polishing technology at Circ Dental
Our state-of-the-art ultrasonic Airflow® system is a supplementary cleaning method to remove almost all traces of plaque and tartar in difficult-to-reach areas of your mouth. We highly recommend this gentle cleaning method for patients with stubborn staining along their gum line and who want brighter and healthier-looking teeth.
Airflow® uses a combination of water, powder particles, and compressed air to remove staining efficiently. It is particularly effective for patients with braces and incurred staining during the brace-wearing period. Your dentist can diligently use the Airflow® hand scaler to clean underneath each bracket and between teeth.
