Emergency Care

Revolutionary bio-stimulators that promote tissue regeneration from deep within the skin, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin.

Treatment Overview

Purpose: Cell repair and anti-aging. Polynucleotides improve skin quality and elasticity and can be used to treat pigmentation and scarring.
Lasts for: Typically 6-12 months+. Regular treatment will provide long term results.
Type of treatment: Regenerative medicine.
Treatment duration: 30 minutes.

What are polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides are injectables formulated from purified DNA fragments. They work to stimulate natural fibroblast cells and subsequently elastin production and collagen synthesis. These are key factors for healthy and hydrated skin.

What are the benefits of polynucleotides?

  • Cell regeneration
  • Hydration
  • Wrinkle reduction
  • Anti-inflammatory effects
  • Scar healing
  • Safe
  • Long lasting results

Due to their method of action, polynucleotides are effective in treating loss of skin texture and volume, fine lines and wrinkles, photo aging, redness and rosacea, pigmentation and scarring. Polynucleotides can be used in a variety of areas to treat skin concerns including under the eyes, face, neck, decollete, back of hands, stretch marks, acne scarring etc. They have an excellent safety record and are highly tolerated. The results can be seen as early as 20 days post treatment, and the benefits are long term.

Treatment journey

Step 1: Consultation

The consultation stage is an assessment of your skin concerns, your existing skin condition and the desired aims of treatment. We will ask you a series of questions about your medical history, advise an effective treatment plan and outline the benefits and risks associated with treatment.

Step 2: Anaesthesia

Topical anaesthetic cream is often used to make the procedure as comfortable as possible.

Step 3: Procedure

Polynucleotides are delivered into the treatment area via fine micro needles. The procedure is minimally invasive and typically takes a few minutes per treatment area.

Step 3: Aftercare

Down time is minimal and you may be recommended skin care products to enhance the effects of your treatment.

FAQs

1. How do Polynucleotides work?

Polynucleotides work by stimulating fibroblast cells and increasing their activity. These cells induce collagen production which gives the skin its elasticity.

Secondly, polynucleotides have a potent antioxidant effect against free radicals which contribute to cell damage and therefore polynucleotides are protective against cell degradation.

Finally, they prompt cellular repair, making them an effective treatment for wound healing and scar treatment.

2. Where can Polynucleotides be used?

Polynucleotides can be safely used to treat many areas of the face and body including:

  • Hair line and scalp
  • Face and eye area
  • Neck and decollete
  • Back of hands
  • Arms
  • Legs
  • Abdomen
  • Scars
  • Stretch marks

3. Are Polynucleotides safe?

Polynucleotides are derived from Kingh Salmon or Trout DNA. The DNA is not dissimilar to humans and the product is highly purified leaving us with pure polynucleotides with all peptides, proteins and lipids removed. Therefore, those with fish allergies are still eligible for this treatment.

Risks of treatment short term include redness, irritation and swelling at injection site. Unlike dermal filler, there is no risk of vascular occlusion with polynucleotides due to their formulation and dispersal.

There are no long-term risks to using polynucleotides regularly, in fact, as we continue to age, it may be something to consider on a long-term basis.

4. How are Polynucleotides different to skin boosters?

Polynucleotides provide bio-regenerative effects promoting your own cells to regenerate and repair. The effects are slower but from within the skin, leading to long term benefits.

Skinboosters deliver hyaluronic acid, amino acids and peptides to the skin. These provide volume and a  hydrating and lifting effect but no regenerative action and therefore the effects are short term.

5. How long do Polynucleotides last?

Typically the effects of treatment last 6-12 months depending on age, skin type and treatment area. Regular treatment can provide more noticeable and long lasting results.

6. How often will I need treatment?

Three to four sessions, spaced approximately 4 weeks apart is recommended for the best results.

7. Can Polynucleotides be combined with other aesthetic procedures?

Yes, Polynucleotides complement nearly all aesthetic treatments. You will be advised at consultation which other treatments are recommended and if they can be safely administered on the same day.

8. Why choose a medical professional for facial aesthetics?

Medical professionals, especially dentists, have a complex understanding of anatomy, vital structures and deliver injections on a daily basis. You will be assessed and treated in a CQC registered clinic with products prescribed by a GDC registered clinician.
