Porcelain veneers are designed to cover the front surface of a tooth to improve its shape, colour and even position. They are created by our highly skilled dental technicians in the lab. These technicians work to precise specifications to ensure each veneer is completely bespoke and unique to each patient.
Longevity
Veneers are a long-term solution for aesthetic smile restoration. They can last for over 15 years, making them ideal if you are looking for a more durable solution than composite bonding.
Stain-defiant
One of the many fantastic benefits of porcelain is its resistance to staining. Veneers are a good choice of treatment if you regularly consume teeth-staining food and drinks, as they won’t lose their shade as easily as real tooth enamel or composite resins (used for composite bonding).
Unmistakably toothlike
Porcelain is one of our favourite materials for restoring smiles, as it has many of the same aesthetic qualities as real tooth enamel. Porcelain captures the translucency and light reflection of tooth enamel.
Step 1: Consultation with your dentist
We will start by examining your teeth and asking you about the aesthetic preferences you have in mind. We take many photos of your smile and discuss your treatment goals. Your dentist can advise on how your tooth or teeth can be altered if you do not have a precise ‘look’ in mind.
Step 2: Digital dental impressions and modelling
Once you are happy to go ahead with treatment, 3D digital scans of your natural teeth are taken. This allows your dentist to create a model of what your teeth will look like after the veneers have been fitted.
Your dentist will show you a range of different shades to choose from and advise on which may be ideally suited to your natural tooth shade and facial aesthetic.
Step 3: Veneer preparation
At this stage, we may need to file down some of your natural tooth enamel. This ensures your tooth is the correct thickness when the veneer is placed over its surface. At this stage, a second 3D scan of your prepared teeth is taken to allow the technicians to begin creating your veneer(s).
Step 4: Veneer placement
Once the dental technician sends us your finished veneer(s), we can arrange a placement appointment. Your dentist will check that your veneer is correctly aligned with your bite before using a strong adhesive cement to place it.
Aftercare
Care for your veneers by coming in for your usual routine and hygienist check-ups when recommended by your dentist. Porcelain veneers are highly durable, but you should refrain from biting on anything that isn’t edible (pencils and bottle caps, for example).

Veneers are versatile, addressing the following aesthetic concerns:
The condition of your natural teeth will determine how much tooth structure requires removal prior to adhering to your veneer. In some cases, it’s possible to prepare your tooth for the placement of a veneer without any alterations to your tooth structure. However, if removing natural tooth structure is necessary, our dentists will work as conservatively as possible to retain as much as possible.
Veneers can be used to treat a full smile but can also be used to treat individual teeth.
